A Perplexity rank tracker runs the questions your buyers ask on Perplexity, on a schedule, and records three things: whether Perplexity names your brand, whether it cites your pages among the numbered sources it shows with the answer, and which competitors it names instead. Because the sources are on the screen, “rank” on Perplexity is concrete: for a given prompt you are in the cited set or you are not. Below are eight tools whose pricing pages list Perplexity, compared on what you get at entry: how often they re-check, how many prompts, which other engines come with it, and the price.
A note on fairness:
The eight Perplexity rank trackers at a glance
Cituna first, because we make it, then the rest by lowest listed paid price. The “Perplexity at entry?” column says on which plan Perplexity is included and how often it is checked there.
| Tool | Best for | Perplexity at entry? | Engines at entry | Listed entry price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cituna | Perplexity plus six other engines daily, with the fixes and published articles | Yes, checked daily on every plan | 7 | $39/mo (Starter) |
| Rankscale | Setting your own check frequency, paid in credits | Yes, on its engine list, paid per credit | 10 on its list | $20/mo (Essentials) |
| Otterly.ai | Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot on a short prompt list | Yes, on Lite, checked daily | 4, plus 3 add-ons | $29/mo (Lite, 15 prompts) |
| LLM Pulse | Weekly or daily checks priced in euros, with unlimited seats | Yes, on every plan | 5, plus add-ons | €49/mo weekly, €79/mo daily |
| LLMrefs | 500 prompts on ten engines on one flat fee | Yes, refreshed weekly | 10 | $79/mo |
| Trakkr | Perplexity with Claude and Grok daily, plus articles | Yes, on Growth, checked daily | 8 | $100/mo (Growth) |
| SE Ranking | Perplexity inside an SEO suite | Yes, on Core, 100 prompts a day | 5 | $129/mo (Core) |
| AthenaHQ | A free start with Perplexity included | Yes, on the free tier | 5 free, 11 paid | Free, then $295/mo |
Rival figures read on each vendor’s own pricing page on September 25, 2026: rankscale.ai/pricing, otterly.ai/pricing, LLM Pulse’s pricing page on llmpulse.ai, llmrefs.com, trakkr.ai/pricing, seranking.com/subscription.html and athenahq.ai/plans. Cituna’s figures are from cituna.com/pricing. Engines at entry counts the engines on the lowest paid plan without add-ons, and the free tier for AthenaHQ. LLM Pulse prices are in euros before VAT, and Rankscale bills in credits, so the Rankscale bill moves with usage. Cituna does not track Microsoft Copilot. Prices in this category change often, so verify before you buy, and tell us if anything here is out of date.
What a Perplexity rank tracker should do
Perplexity answers in prose and shows numbered source links with the answer. That gives a tracker more to record than a yes or no. For each of your buyer prompts, a Perplexity rank tracker worth paying for keeps six things:
- Mentions and citations. Whether Perplexity names your brand in the answer, and whether any numbered source points at your domain. Our guide to mentions versus citations explains why the citation is the one that carries the click.
- The cited source URLs. Every page Perplexity numbered, yours and everyone else’s. Those pages are where the answer comes from, so they are the pages you can work on or earn a place in.
- Competitors named. Which rivals Perplexity recommends when it leaves you out, prompt by prompt.
- Position. Where you are named among the brands in the answer, and where your page sits in the source list.
- History. The same prompt over days and weeks. One answer is a sample, and AI answers change from run to run, so a trend is what tells you whether a change is real.
- How often it re-checks. Daily, weekly or on a schedule you pick. Weekly checks can cost less, as LLM Pulse’s pricing shows; daily checks show a lost citation the day it goes.
Two more things decide whether the data turns into results: the other engines on the same plan, since buyers rarely ask only Perplexity, and what the tool does after the report. Some stop at the chart, some suggest actions, and a few write the content.
The side-by-side matrix
The matrix below puts the entry plans side by side on the rows that matter for Perplexity tracking. A partial mark means the feature exists with a condition, such as an add-on or a higher plan.

Rival cells come from each vendor’s own pricing page, read September 25, 2026, and linked in the detail sections below. Not listed means the vendor’s pricing page does not mention the feature, so the cell is left open rather than guessed. Otterly.ai sells Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode as add-ons on Lite; LLM Pulse sells Claude, Grok, Copilot and DeepSeek as add-ons; AthenaHQ’s free tier covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot, with Claude, Grok and AI Mode on its paid Starter. Cituna checks all seven of its engines daily on every plan; MCP read tools are included from $39 and write tools from Pro ($119). Spot an error? Tell us and we will correct it.
The 8 best Perplexity rank trackers in detail
How this list works: every entry lists Perplexity on its published plans, as read on the vendor’s pricing page on September 25, 2026. Cituna comes first: it is our product, and it checks Perplexity and six more engines daily from $39/mo. After Cituna, entries run from the lowest listed paid price to the highest. The numbers help you find your way; they are not a ranking.
1. Cituna (best for Perplexity plus six other engines, checked daily from $39)
Cituna runs your buyer prompts on Perplexity every day and records three things per prompt: whether Perplexity cited your brand, your position among the sources it named, and the competitors it cited instead. The same prompts run daily on ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, so a Perplexity miss reads against the other six engines rather than on its own. Then Cituna does the work: it generates the fix for each gap (schema, FAQ markup, llms.txt and the page changes), and its AutoSEO writes 30 articles a month on Starter and publishes them to WordPress, Shopify, a GitHub repo or any CMS by webhook. The Perplexity rank tracker page shows what Cituna records for each prompt.
Cituna’s plans are flat, with all seven engines on every plan: Starter at $39/mo covers one brand and 10 prompts, Pro at $119 covers three brands and 30 prompts, and Max at $399 covers ten brands and 90 prompts. A native Google Search Console integration ties the work back to real clicks and impressions, and the MCP server is included: read tools from $39, write tools from Pro. MCP is not unique to Cituna; Rankscale, LLM Pulse, Trakkr and SE Ranking include one on their entry plans, and Otterly.ai from its Standard plan. The 3-day free trial asks for a card, and you are not charged during the trial.
Where Cituna falls short: it does not track Microsoft Copilot; Starter’s 10 prompts are fewer than LLM Pulse’s 50 or LLMrefs’ 500; and seats are capped by plan (1, 5 or 15).
2. Rankscale (best for setting your own check frequency, paid in credits)
Rankscale sells credits rather than a flat plan. Rankscale’s pricing page (read September 25, 2026) runs from Essentials at $20 a month to Pro at $99 (1,200 credits, up to 4,800 AI answers, 7-day free trial), Growth at $385 and Enterprise at $780. Rankscale’s engine list covers Perplexity alongside ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, Claude, Grok and Copilot, and Rankscale checks can run hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. Query fan-out and MCP come with every Rankscale plan.
For Perplexity, the draw is control: Rankscale lets you re-check a prompt more often than a daily tracker, if your credits allow it. Where Rankscale falls short: Rankscale’s own calculator prices engines differently (0.25 credits for a ChatGPT run, 2 for a Claude run), so work out what your Perplexity runs cost before you size a plan. Rankscale’s Essentials plan leaves out Data Studio, exports and unlimited seats. More on our Rankscale alternatives page.
3. Otterly.ai (best for Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot on a short prompt list)
Otterly.ai includes Perplexity on its lowest plan. Otterly.ai’s Lite costs $29/mo billed monthly, or $25/mo billed annually, for 15 prompts checked daily on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with unlimited team members (otterly.ai/pricing, read September 25, 2026). Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode are Otterly.ai add-ons on Lite at $29, $9 and $9 a month, so all seven Otterly.ai engines come to $76/mo on that plan by our arithmetic. Otterly.ai does not offer Grok.
For Perplexity, Otterly.ai gives a daily reading on a small, fixed set of buyer questions, with Copilot in the same view, which Cituna does not track. Where Otterly.ai falls short: 15 prompts is a short list for a baseline, and Otterly.ai’s API and MCP access start on Standard at $189/mo, a steep step up from $29. Our Otterly AI alternatives page goes further.
4. LLM Pulse (best for weekly or daily checks priced in euros, with unlimited seats)
LLM Pulse is a European tracker that includes ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews on every plan. LLM Pulse’s Starter is €49 a month for 50 prompts checked once a week in one project; checked daily, the same 50 prompts cost €79 a month (LLM Pulse’s pricing page on llmpulse.ai, read September 25, 2026). LLM Pulse sells Claude, Grok, Copilot and DeepSeek as add-ons from €8 per model per month, and includes unlimited team members and MCP on every plan. LLM Pulse’s prices are in euros before VAT.
For Perplexity, LLM Pulse’s choice between weekly and daily checks lets you trade cadence for cost on the same 50 prompts. Where LLM Pulse falls short: the €49 headline is the weekly plan, LLM Pulse’s daily plans start billing right away, and the LLM Pulse 14-day free trial covers weekly plans only and asks for a payment method. Our LLM Pulse alternatives page goes further.
5. LLMrefs (best for 500 prompts on ten engines on one flat fee)
LLMrefs has a single $79 plan with a 7-day free trial, tracking 500 prompts across ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot, Meta AI and DeepSeek with no charge per engine (llmrefs.com, read September 25, 2026). LLMrefs starts from your keywords and builds the fan-out prompts behind them, and unlimited team members and projects, CSV export and API access are included.
For Perplexity, LLMrefs gives the largest prompt set on this list at a flat price. Where LLMrefs falls short: LLMrefs reports refresh weekly, so day-to-day movement in a Perplexity answer will not show, and LLMrefs’ pricing page lists no MCP server. See our LLMrefs alternatives page for tools with daily data.
6. Trakkr (best for Perplexity with Claude and Grok daily, plus articles)
Trakkr includes Claude and Grok on every plan, with no per-model fees. Trakkr tracks each brand daily across eight models: Claude, Grok, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, DeepSeek and Meta AI. Trakkr’s pricing page (read September 25, 2026) lists Growth at $100/mo, or $1,000 a year, for one brand, 50 prompts, 25 articles a month, three seats and MCP access, with a 14-day free trial that asks for a card.
For Perplexity, Trakkr gives a daily reading on 50 prompts with Claude and Grok in the same run. Where Trakkr falls short: Microsoft Copilot and Google AI Mode are not on Trakkr’s model list, Growth covers one brand, and Trakkr’s REST API starts on Scale at $500/mo. See our Trakkr alternatives page for the wider comparison.
7. SE Ranking (best for Perplexity inside an SEO suite)
SE Ranking puts AI tracking inside its SEO suite. SE Ranking’s Core plan, $129/mo billed monthly or $103.20/mo billed annually, tracks 100 prompts a day across Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, with mention and link tracking, source analysis that shows which pages the engines pull from, and MCP access (seranking.com, read September 25, 2026). SE Ranking shows those answers next to your rankings, audits, backlinks and Search Console data, and SE Ranking’s 14-day free trial needs no card.
For Perplexity, SE Ranking’s source analysis covers the cited-pages view that matters most, at a high prompt count. Where SE Ranking falls short: you pay for a whole SEO suite to get the AI tracking, and Claude, Grok and Microsoft Copilot are not among SE Ranking’s five engines. More on our SE Ranking AI tracker alternatives page.
8. AthenaHQ (best for a free start with Perplexity included)
AthenaHQ starts free: 300 credits on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot, with unlimited members. AthenaHQ’s Starter is $295 a month for 3,600 credits, one per AI response, across eleven models including Claude, Grok, AI Mode, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral, with unlimited seats and a GA4 and Google Search Console link (athenahq.ai/plans, read September 25, 2026).
For Perplexity, AthenaHQ’s free tier is the one way on this list to run a tracker on Perplexity without paying or starting a trial. Where AthenaHQ falls short: nothing sits between AthenaHQ’s free tier and the $295 Starter, AthenaHQ bills in credits, and AthenaHQ sells the API and extra credits as paid add-ons. AthenaHQ’s pricing page lists no MCP server. See our AthenaHQ alternatives page.
Tools we left out, and why
Three well-known tools did not list Perplexity on a plan you can buy when we read their pricing pages on September 25, 2026:
- Peec AI. Peec AI’s Starter, $95/mo on monthly billing, tracks three models you pick from ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI (peec.ai/pricing, read September 25, 2026). Perplexity is not on that Peec AI list. More on our Peec AI alternatives page.
- Profound. Profound’s only public entry is a free 7-day trial on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews; past that, every Profound plan is a custom Enterprise contract with no published price (tryprofound.com/pricing, read September 25, 2026). See Profound alternatives.
- Writesonic. Writesonic’s self-serve plans, from $99 a month, track ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews; Perplexity needs a Writesonic Enterprise contract (writesonic.com/pricing, read September 25, 2026). See Writesonic GEO alternatives.
Two more tools list Perplexity and have their own pages here. Promptwatch’s $95/mo Essential plan tracks four models, and the Promptwatch plan tooltip names ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude (promptwatch.com/pricing, read September 25, 2026). The Semrush AI Toolkit costs $99/mo per domain, billed annually, for 25 prompts tracked daily across ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity (semrush.com/pricing/ai, read September 25, 2026). We kept the numbered list to eight; see Promptwatch alternatives and Semrush AI Toolkit alternatives for both in full.
How to check your Perplexity rankings by hand
You can take a first reading today without any tool. It is slow, and it only covers one engine, but it shows you what a tracker automates and gives you a baseline to compare any tool against:
- Write down ten questions your buyers ask, in their words: “best tool for X”, “X vs Y”, “is X worth it”.
- Ask each one in a fresh Perplexity thread, signed out or in a private window, so earlier conversations do not shape the answer.
- Log the answer. Note whether your brand is named, where it is named among the brands, and whether any numbered source points at your site.
- Copy every source URL and every rival named. Those are the pages the answer comes from.
- Repeat the pass on at least two more days before you draw conclusions, because the same prompt can return a different answer and different sources from run to run.
- Keep it in one sheet with a date column, so each new pass compares against the last one.
Ten prompts over three days is thirty answers to log, for one engine, which is where a tracker earns its fee. Our guide to tracking your brand in Perplexity covers the manual method in more depth, and how to rank on Perplexity covers what to change once you know which sources Perplexity trusts.
For the wider field, including tools that do not track Perplexity, see our rundown of the best AI visibility tools.
