Grok Rank Tracker

Grok is the AI engine almost no rank tracker watches, and we run it daily. Cituna runs your buyer prompts through xAI’s Grok every day and shows exactly where your brand is cited, and which competitors are cited instead.

Yes, you can track your brand’s rankings in Grok. Cituna runs your buyer prompts through xAI’s Grok every day and records whether Grok cites your brand, where you rank in its answer, and which competitors it names instead. Grok is included from $39/mo and checked daily, one of the only trackers that covers it at that price, at that cadence.

How Grok tracking works

You give Cituna the buyer questions your customers actually ask, “best AI visibility tool”, “X vs Y”, “tools for …”. Every day we send that prompt set through xAI’s Grok and read the answers back the way a buyer would, recording three things per prompt: whether Grok mentioned your brand, the position it gave you in the answer, and the competitor brands it named instead.

What makes Grok worth its own tracker is where it looks. Grok leans heavily on live content from X (formerly Twitter) and real-time web search, so its brand picks skew recent and social, a genuinely different signal from every other engine. A brand being talked about on X today can surface in Grok while it is still invisible in models that lean on older training data. Because we check Grok every day, you catch that shift the day it happens.

Tracking is only half of it. For every gap Grok shows, Cituna generates the fix, schema, FAQ markup, llms.txt and content recommendations, and a native Google Search Console integration ties the work back to real search clicks. A built-in MCP server lets you query your scans from Claude or any MCP client (read tools are included from $39; the write tools that trigger a scan or update a gap are on Pro and up).

What you see

Grok gets its own column in your citation matrix, alongside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews. Each row is one of your buyer prompts, and the Grok cell shows, at a glance:

  • Cited or not: a clear yes/no for whether Grok mentioned your brand in that answer.
  • Your position: where you landed in the answer when you were cited, so you can tell a passing mention from a top recommendation.
  • Who was cited instead: the competitor brands Grok named in the prompts you lost, so the gap comes with names, not just a score.

The Grok column refreshes every day, on the same daily cadence as your other five engines, so every number in the matrix is at most a day old.

Why Grok matters

Grok ships inside X to a huge, engaged audience, and it is the blindest spot in the category. Most tools simply don’t watch it: Otterly, Peec, Knowatoa, Gauge, Omnia, Semrush and Ahrefs don’t track Grok at any price, and the ones that do tend to reserve it for an enterprise tier. That makes being early here cheap and largely uncontested, the brands that start measuring Grok now are measuring a channel their competitors can’t even see.

We run this on ourselves: In our July 2026 self-scan, Grok cited cituna.com in 1 of the 10 buyer prompts we tested (at position 1 when it did). We dogfood the tracker and show you the real number, because a gap you can see is a gap you can close, and surfacing it every day is the whole point of measuring Grok daily.

Who else tracks Grok

Before you compare on price, compare on coverage, because for Grok, most of the field simply doesn’t offer it. We build Cituna, so treat this as our own analysis; every competitor figure links to that vendor’s live pricing page, dated July 16, 2026. Here is who tracks Grok at their entry tier, and what it costs to get there.

The verdict is straightforward: if you want Grok tracked, Cituna is the pick. We include Grok plus five more engines, all six checked daily, from $39/mo, wired to the fix loop and native Google Search Console that turn a citation gap into shipped changes. The others are capable at their own jobs: Otterly is a solid budget GEO monitor, Peec is strong on multi-country AI-search analytics, and the Semrush AI Toolkit adds AI-readiness data beside a full SEO suite, they just don’t list Grok at any published tier as of July 16, 2026. AthenaHQ does track Grok, from its $295/mo tier; Cituna covers that high end without the wait. Max ($299/mo) gives agencies and high-volume sites 120 tracked prompts, 50 brands, 80 scans a month, API access and priority support, and our Enterprise plans add custom prompt pools, brands and engine cadences with invoiced billing and onboarding, all self-serve today. Frequently asked questions

Can you track brand mentions in Grok?

Yes. Cituna runs your buyer prompts through xAI’s Grok every day and records, prompt by prompt, whether Grok mentioned your brand, where you appeared in its answer, and which competitors it named instead. You see it as a dedicated Grok column in your citation matrix, refreshed daily, the same daily view we give ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews. All six engines are checked every day.

What sources does Grok use for recommendations?

Grok leans heavily on live content from X (formerly Twitter) and real-time web search, so its brand picks tend to skew recent and social, what people are posting and linking right now, more than a slowly-built reputation. That is why a brand active and cited on X often surfaces in Grok before it shows up elsewhere. Cituna records which competitors Grok names so you can see what it is pulling from.

Why does Grok recommend different brands than ChatGPT?

Because they read different signals. Grok weights live X and fresh web results, so it favors what is current and being talked about; ChatGPT leans more on its training data and its own web search, which skews toward established, widely-referenced sources. The practical result is that your brand can be cited strongly in one and invisible in the other, which is exactly why tracking each engine separately matters. In our own July 2026 self-scan, Grok cited cituna.com in 1 of the 10 buyer prompts we tested, a different result from ChatGPT’s 2.
