Best Google AI Overviews Rank Trackers in 2026 (16 Compared)

Sixteen tools that track Google AI Overviews, compared on price, prompts and how often they check. Cituna reads AI Overviews daily with six more engines from $39 a month and writes the fixes.

Published

The best Google AI Overviews tracker for a team that wants AI Overviews checked every day next to Google AI Mode and five more AI engines, on a flat plan from $39, is Cituna. For each query it records whether an Overview appeared, whether your domain is among the sources it cites, your position and the competitors cited in your place, then generates the fix for each gap and publishes articles that answer the queries you miss. Fifteen more trackers list AI Overviews on a plan, free tier or trial you can start yourself. By need: Otterly.ai for AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot on 15 prompts from $29/mo, Rankscale for choosing how often each query runs, LLMrefs for 500 prompts on eleven engines, SE Ranking for AI Overviews inside a full SEO suite, AthenaHQ for a free tier that includes them, and ten more below. Rival facts were read on each vendor’s pricing page on October 1, 2026.

How we picked the 16

The bar. Each tool’s own pricing page had to name Google AI Overviews on a plan, free tier or free trial that anyone can start without a sales call. We read every pricing page on October 1, 2026.

What we compared. The entry price for a plan that includes AI Overviews, how many prompts that plan covers, how often it re-checks them, the other engines on the same plan, and whether the tool connects Google Search Console.

Why check frequency and Search Console have their own columns. An AI Overview is not on every results page, and a query can gain or lose one between visits, so a weekly reading can miss what a daily check records. Read next to those checks, Search Console shows whether your clicks move on the queries that show one. That is why the matrix records how often each tool checks and whether it connects Search Console; the list itself is ordered by price, as the next paragraph says.

Order. Cituna is listed first because it is our product. The remaining 15 run by the lowest price each vendor lists for a paid plan for brands (agency plans aside), billed month to month where that option exists, with euro prices taken at face value, and Profound, which publishes no price, comes last. Treat the numbers as signposts rather than a ranking.

Figures read on each vendor’s pricing page on October 1, 2026; the links are in each section below. Cituna’s figures come from cituna.com/pricing. Writesonic’s page shows yearly prices, and its stated $240 yearly saving on Starter puts month-to-month billing at $99. LLMrefs marks its $79 plan “Limited time only”. LLM Pulse and Omnia price in euros, LLM Pulse before VAT. Rankscale, Nimt and AthenaHQ bill in credits, so their monthly cost moves with the engines and frequency you choose. Cituna does not track Microsoft Copilot. *SE Ranking’s Core plan says “5 LLMs to track” without naming them; cells marked * take them to be the trackers its product menu lists (AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity).

What an AI Overviews tracker should record

An AI Overviews tracker searches Google for your buyer queries on a schedule and reads the AI Overview at the top of the results, when there is one. A tracker worth paying for keeps six things per query:

  • Whether an Overview appeared at all. Google shows AI Overviews on a subset of queries, and one can disappear from a query from one week to the next. Across your query set, the share that showed an Overview on a given day is a number worth watching on its own.
  • The cited links. An AI Overview links to the pages it drew from. Whether your domain is among them, and in what position, is the AI Overviews version of a ranking.
  • Whether your brand is named in the text. Being named and being linked are separate outcomes; our explainer on mentions versus citations covers why both are worth counting.
  • Who is cited instead. The competitor pages in the Overview when yours is missing show you what Google trusts for that query.
  • The market it searched from. Results differ by country and language, so check that a tool searches Google from the market you sell in.
  • A daily history. Because Overviews come and go, one check tells you little; a daily series shows whether a change is real.

The Overview leans on pages that already rank, which makes Search Console worth connecting: read next to a daily Overview check, it shows whether your clicks and impressions move on the queries that show one. Our guide to Google AI Overviews explains how the feature picks its sources.

Side-by-side matrix

Every tool below tracks AI Overviews. The matrix shows how often each one checks on its entry plan and which other engines come with it: “Add-on” is a paid extra, and a plan name means the engine starts on that plan.

Rival cells come from each vendor’s pricing page as read on October 1, 2026, except Profound’s Search Console cell, which comes from our September 25, 2026 record. “Not listed” means the pricing page does not mention it; we leave it open rather than guess. “Pick” marks Peec AI’s self-serve model choice: each plan tracks three engines you choose from ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Every tool in the table tracks AI Overviews on the plan named in the at-a-glance table. Rankscale names Grok in its engine list rather than on its plan cards. Omnia adds Claude, Gemini and Copilot on request. “Enterprise or own key” means Gauge includes Claude and Grok on Enterprise, or runs them on Growth once you connect your own Anthropic or xAI key, with the provider billing those runs. *SE Ranking’s Core plan says “5 LLMs to track” without naming them; cells marked * take them to be the trackers its product menu lists (AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity). Cituna checks all seven of its engines daily on every plan, with MCP read tools from $39 and write tools from Pro ($119).

The 16 best AI Overviews trackers in detail

1. Cituna (best for AI Overviews plus AI Mode and five more engines, checked daily from $39)

Cituna runs your buyer queries against Google every day and, for each one, does three things: detects whether an AI Overview appeared, checks whether your domain is among the sources it cites, and records your position and the competitors cited in your place. Google AI Mode gets its own column, because it is a separate surface that answers the same question differently, and the same queries run daily on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Grok. Search Console is built in, so the Overview results on your tracked queries sit next to your real clicks and impressions. Then Cituna does the work: a generated fix for each missed citation (schema, FAQ markup, llms.txt and page changes), and AutoSEO articles, 30 a month on Starter, written and published to WordPress, Shopify, a GitHub repo or any CMS by webhook. The AI Overviews tracker page shows the citation matrix it builds.

Every plan carries all seven engines at a flat price: Starter $39/mo for 1 brand and 10 prompts, Pro $119/mo for 3 brands and 30 prompts, Max $399/mo for 10 brands and 90 prompts (plans). The MCP server lets Claude or any MCP client read your scans from $39, with write tools from Pro. Other trackers here offer MCP too, among them LLM Pulse, Omnia, Nimt, Trakkr, SE Ranking, Goodie and Gauge, with Rankscale offering it from Pro and Otterly.ai from Standard.

Where Cituna falls short: it does not track Microsoft Copilot, which Otterly.ai, Rankscale, LLMrefs, Nimt, Scrunch AI, AthenaHQ, Goodie and Gauge list; Starter’s 10 prompts are fewer than SE Ranking’s 100 or Scrunch AI’s 125; and its trial asks for a card, where the trials of SE Ranking, Omnia and Writesonic do not.

2. Rankscale (best for choosing how often each query runs, paid in credits)

Rankscale charges in credits, and you decide how often each search term runs: hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. Rankscale’s pricing page, read October 1, 2026, lists Google AI Overviews and AI Mode on its plan cards next to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, Claude and Copilot, and Rankscale lists Grok among its engines. Rankscale’s Pro costs $99 a month for 1,200 credits, or up to 4,800 AI answers, with 10 brand dashboards, 50 page audits a month, MCP access and a 7-day free trial. Rankscale’s Pro+ is $229 and adds a REST API, Growth is $385 and Enterprise $780, and an Essentials plan is sold yearly only at $204 a year.

For AI Overviews, the schedule lets you check fast-moving queries often and stable ones rarely, which keeps credit use down. Where Rankscale falls short: each engine costs a different number of credits per run, so model your AI Overviews volume in its calculator before you choose a plan, and its pricing page does not mention Search Console. More on our Rankscale alternatives page.

3. Otterly.ai (best for AI Overviews and Copilot on a short prompt list)

Otterly.ai includes Google AI Overviews on every tier, with ChatGPT, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Otterly.ai’s Lite costs $29 a month, or $25 a month billed yearly, for 15 prompts checked daily in one workspace, with unlimited team members. Otterly.ai’s Standard is $189 a month for 100 prompts and adds API and MCP access, and Premium is $489 for 400 prompts (otterly.ai/pricing, read October 1, 2026). Otterly.ai sells Google AI Mode and Gemini as add-ons at $9 a month each on Lite, $59 on Standard and $149 on Premium, and Claude for $29 a month on Lite.

For AI Overviews, Lite gives a daily reading on a small, fixed set of queries, with Copilot in the same view, which Cituna does not track. Where Otterly.ai falls short: 15 prompts is a thin sample for a query type that appears only some of the time; AI Mode is an add-on whose price climbs with the tier; Grok is not offered; and API and MCP start at $189. Our Otterly AI alternatives page goes deeper.

4. LLM Pulse (best for AI Overviews and AI Mode in every plan, priced in euros)

LLM Pulse puts five models on every plan: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews. LLM Pulse’s Starter covers 50 prompts in one project for €49 a month on weekly tracking or €79 on daily tracking; Growth (150 prompts) is €99 and Scale (450 prompts) €299 on weekly tracking; and yearly billing gives two months free (llmpulse.ai/pricing, read October 1, 2026). LLM Pulse sells Claude, Grok and Copilot as add-ons from €8 per model per month. Team seats are unlimited and an MCP server is included.

For AI Overviews, the daily option matters because an Overview can come and go within a week; the weekly plans sample one day in seven. Where LLM Pulse falls short: daily tracking costs €30 more on Starter, the 14-day trial covers weekly plans only and needs a payment method, and prices exclude VAT. Our LLM Pulse alternatives page compares the options.

5. LLMrefs (best for 500 prompts across eleven engines for one fee)

LLMrefs has one plan, $79 a month and marked limited time on its pricing page: 500 prompts with no charge per engine, covering Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, ChatGPT Search, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot, Meta AI and DeepSeek (llmrefs.com/pricing, read October 1, 2026). LLMrefs generates fan-out prompts from your keywords, tracks citations to show which sources shape the answers, and can target more than 50 countries and 20 languages. A 7-day trial is offered.

For AI Overviews, country targeting helps because Google’s results differ by market. Where LLMrefs falls short: each keyword refreshes at least once a week rather than daily, and its pricing page names neither an MCP server nor Search Console. See our LLMrefs alternatives page.

6. Omnia (best for a daily 25-prompt plan in euros, with sentiment included)

Omnia tracks four engines by default on every plan: ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, with Claude, Gemini and Copilot available on request. Omnia’s Growth plan costs €79 a month, or €63 a month billed yearly, for up to 25 prompts monitored daily, with sentiment analysis and 150 insight credits; Pro is €279 for 100 prompts and Enterprise starts at €499 (useomnia.com/pricing, read October 1, 2026). The 14-day trial needs no card, and Omnia’s MCP server is live.

For AI Overviews, Omnia’s defaults already pair Overviews with AI Mode, so the two Google surfaces sit side by side from day one. Where Omnia falls short: 25 prompts is a small set; Grok is not offered; the terms for the on-request engines are not on the pricing page; and Search Console is not mentioned there. More on our Omnia alternatives page.

7. Nimt (best for usage-based credits across eight models)

Nimt starts you with $45 in free credits once you add a card, then bills its Flex plan from $89 a month for 10,000 credits. With three of its eight models selected, that allowance covers 72 prompts a day, tracked daily (nimt.ai/pricing, read October 1, 2026). The eight models are ChatGPT, ChatGPT Search, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini. Flex includes an AI search agent that works in the app and in Slack, an MCP server and unlimited users; Enterprise is a custom annual contract.

For AI Overviews, the free credits let you test your own queries before you pay. Where Nimt falls short: credits are shared across models, so the number of prompts per day drops as you add engines; Grok is not on its list; and its pricing page does not mention Search Console.

8. Peec AI (best for AI Overviews as one of three engines you pick, with unlimited seats)

Peec AI’s self-serve plans each track three models that you choose from ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Peec AI’s Starter is $95 a month, or $80 a month billed yearly, for 50 prompts in one project; Pro is $245 for 150 prompts and Advanced $495 for 350 prompts with multi-country tracking. Every plan tracks daily with unlimited users (peec.ai/pricing, read October 1, 2026). More models are a paid add-on, and Claude and Grok are listed only on Enterprise.

For AI Overviews, Peec AI suits a team that knows its three engines and wants the whole team in the dashboard. Where Peec AI falls short: tracking both Google surfaces uses two of your three picks, Perplexity is an add-on, and Claude and Grok need an Enterprise contract. Our Peec AI alternatives page has more.

9. Writesonic (best for AI Overviews tracking with AI articles on the same plan)

Every Writesonic plan you can buy online checks ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews daily. Writesonic’s Starter is listed at $79 a month on yearly billing, with a stated saving of $240 a year against monthly billing, so month to month it is $99. That buys 50 prompts with 50 answers tracked a day, 15 AI articles and 10 site audits a month, and one user. Writesonic’s Basic, $199 a month billed yearly, covers 100 prompts and 300 answers a day, and Growth, $399 billed yearly, covers 200 prompts and 600 answers a day with sentiment analysis (writesonic.com/pricing, read October 1, 2026). Writesonic’s free trial needs no credit card, and Search Console, GA4 and WordPress are among its integrations.

For AI Overviews, Writesonic fits a team that wants the tracking and the articles that close the gaps in one subscription. Where Writesonic falls short: 50 answers a day is one per prompt, so Starter cannot answer every prompt on all three engines each day; AI Mode, Perplexity, Claude, Grok and Copilot are Enterprise only, through a demo; and Starter has a single user. See our Writesonic GEO alternatives page.

10. Trakkr (best for AI Overviews with Claude and Grok daily, plus articles)

Trakkr’s eight models, all included on every plan, are ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI. Trakkr’s Growth plan is $100 a month or $1,000 a year for one brand tracked daily on 50 prompts, with 25 articles a month, three seats and MCP access, and Trakkr’s 14-day trial asks for a card (trakkr.ai/pricing, read October 1, 2026).

For AI Overviews, Trakkr gives a daily reading alongside the chat engines and turns gaps into articles on the same bill. Where Trakkr falls short: Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot are not on its model list, Growth covers one brand, and the REST API starts on Scale at $500 a month. See our Trakkr alternatives page.

11. SE Ranking (best for AI Overviews inside a full SEO suite)

SE Ranking adds AI tracking to its SEO platform. SE Ranking’s Core costs $129 a month, or $103.20 a month billed yearly, and includes 100 prompts tracked daily, 2,000 keywords, 10 projects, one manager seat, 25,000 API credits with MCP access, and GA and Search Console integrations (seranking.com, read October 1, 2026). SE Ranking’s plan table gives Core “5 LLMs to track” without naming them; we take them to be the trackers its product menu lists (AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity). SE Ranking’s 14-day trial needs no card.

For AI Overviews, SE Ranking puts the AI answers in the same platform as your classic rankings and site audits, so both kinds of visibility sit in one account. Where SE Ranking falls short: you pay for a whole SEO suite to get the AI tracking, and Claude, Grok and Copilot are not on its AI tracker list. More on our SE Ranking AI tracker alternatives page.

12. Scrunch AI (best for 125 prompts with site audits and five seats)

Scrunch AI’s Core plan is $250 a month for 125 unique prompts, 5,000 responses a month, 5 site audits a month, one brand workspace and five user licenses, across four engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot (scrunch.com/pricing, read October 1, 2026). A 7-day free trial starts Core. Scrunch AI’s Enterprise, priced on request, widens coverage to nine engines including Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Google AI Mode and Grok, and adds API access.

For AI Overviews, Core pairs a sizable prompt set with page audits that look at how AI reads your site. Where Scrunch AI falls short: AI Mode, Claude, Gemini and Grok wait for Enterprise; Core tracks one country, one language and one persona; and its comparison table marks MCP and API access as Enterprise features. Our Scrunch alternatives page goes further.

13. AthenaHQ (best for a free tier that includes AI Overviews)

AthenaHQ’s free Essential tier includes AI Overviews: 300 credits across ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot, with unlimited members. AthenaHQ’s Starter, $295 a month, raises that to 3,600 credits, one per AI response, across eleven models that add AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral (athenahq.ai/plans, read October 1, 2026). AthenaHQ lists a GA4 and Google Search Console integration, and yearly billing is 17% off.

For AI Overviews, the free tier is a way to see real Overview data without paying or starting a trial clock. Where AthenaHQ falls short: 300 credits buys 300 AI responses, a sample rather than a daily tracker, since ten prompts on its five free engines use 50 credits a day; there is no plan between free and $295; API access and extra credits cost more; and no MCP server is named. See our AthenaHQ alternatives page.

14. Goodie (best for AI Overviews with AI Mode and Copilot, plus monthly optimizations)

Goodie’s Core plan costs $399 a month and tracks five models daily: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot. Goodie’s Core covers 120 prompts across two countries and two languages, with MCP access, 50 optimizations a month, revenue attribution, five seats and support from an AEO strategist, and starts with a 7-day free trial (higoodie.com/pricing, read October 1, 2026). Goodie’s Pro, $999 a month, adds Gemini, Alexa and Sparky for 250 prompts; Enterprise covers up to 13 models. Goodie lists a Google Search Console integration.

For AI Overviews, Goodie bundles the tracking with optimization work and a strategist. Where Goodie falls short: Core starts at $399 a month, Gemini starts on the $999 plan, and Claude and Grok need Enterprise. Our Goodie alternatives page compares it.

15. Gauge (best for 600 prompts a day on six engines, with articles included)

Gauge has one plan you can start yourself: Growth, $599 a month after a one-week free trial. Growth asks 600 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot and both Google surfaces, AI Overviews and AI Mode; by Gauge’s arithmetic that is 108,000 answers a month. Growth also brings 18 publish-ready articles a month, five seats and exports (withgauge.com/pricing, read October 1, 2026). GA4, Search Console and DataForSEO connect on Growth, articles publish to Webflow, Framer, Sanity or GitHub, and MCP access is included. Claude and Grok come on Gauge’s Enterprise plan, or on Growth with your own Anthropic or xAI API key, billed by that provider; Enterprise is priced on request.

For AI Overviews, Growth suits a team that wants a large daily sample across both Google surfaces with Search Console data in the same place. Where Gauge falls short: no plan costs less than $599, Growth tracks a single location, and Claude or Grok on Growth add API costs that you pay to the provider. Our Gauge alternatives page has more.

16. Profound (best for a free week on AI Overviews before an Enterprise contract)

Profound’s public entry is a free 7-day trial: 50 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, from a prompt set Profound recommends for your industry. After that, every Profound plan is a custom Enterprise contract with no published price, covering up to nine engines (tryprofound.com/pricing, read October 1, 2026); our September 25, 2026 record of that page also lists SSO and SOC 2 on Enterprise.

For AI Overviews, the trial shows your exposure on Profound’s own query set before any sales conversation. Where Profound falls short: you cannot edit the trial prompts, the trial keeps no history or exports, Grok is not on its engine list, and our September 25 record of its pricing page shows no Search Console integration. See our Profound alternatives page.

Tools we left out, and why

Two trackers that report on Google answers did not meet the bar, because their pricing pages do not say that a plan covers AI Overviews:

  • Promptwatch has you pick four models per plan, from $95/mo, from a list that shows Google as a single option, while its model list names AI Overviews and AI Mode separately; the page does not say which a Google pick tracks (promptwatch.com/pricing, October 1, 2026). See Promptwatch alternatives.
  • Semrush’s AI Visibility Toolkit, $99/mo per domain billed yearly for 25 prompts, lists mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity without naming AI Overviews (semrush.com/pricing/ai, October 1, 2026). See Semrush AI Toolkit alternatives.

How to check AI Overviews by hand

You can take a first reading without any tool. It covers one surface and takes time, but it shows what a tracker automates:

  1. Write ten queries the way your buyers type them into Google: “best tool for X”, “X pricing”, “X vs Y”.
  2. Search each one in a private window, signed out, with Google set to the country you sell in.
  3. Note whether an AI Overview appears. If it does, expand it and copy every link it cites. If it does not, write “no Overview” rather than leaving the row blank.
  4. Record whether your brand is named in the text and whether your domain is among the links, and which competitors are cited.
  5. Repeat the same ten searches on two more days. An Overview can appear one day and be gone the next, so three passes beat one.
  6. Keep it all in one sheet with a date column, so you can see the share of queries that showed an Overview on each day.

Ten queries over three days is thirty searches for a single surface. Our guide to tracking your brand in AI Overviews covers the manual method step by step, and how to get cited by AI Overviews covers what to change once you know which sources win. The same comparison for another engine is on our best Perplexity rank trackers page. Prefer to see it on your own site first? A 30-minute demo runs Cituna live on your domain and shows who AI recommends in your place, and what to fix first.

Our verdict

If AI Overviews is one of several engines your buyers use, and you want a daily reading tied to Search Console with the work done for you, Cituna fits: AI Overviews, AI Mode and five more engines checked every day from $39/mo, with a generated fix for each missed citation and articles published to your site. If you only need AI Overviews and Copilot on a few queries, Otterly.ai’s Lite covers them for $29/mo. If you want the Overview next to your classic rankings and audits, SE Ranking’s Core does that from $129/mo. If you want to look before you pay anything, AthenaHQ’s free tier includes AI Overviews.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Google AI Overviews tracker?

For a team that wants AI Overviews checked daily next to Google AI Mode and five more engines on a flat plan, Cituna: it records whether an Overview appeared for each query, whether your domain is cited, your position and the competitors cited instead, every day from $39/mo, then generates the fix for each miss and publishes 30 articles a month on Starter. Other picks by need: Otterly.ai for AI Overviews and Copilot on 15 prompts ($29/mo); Rankscale for a schedule you set, on credits (Pro $99/mo); LLMrefs for 500 prompts on eleven engines with a weekly refresh ($79/mo, marked limited time); SE Ranking for AI Overviews inside an SEO suite ($129/mo); AthenaHQ for a free tier (300 credits). Prices read on each vendor’s pricing page on October 1, 2026.

Can I check AI Overviews for free?

Yes. By hand, search your buyer queries in a private window on a few different days and log whether an Overview appears and which links it cites. With a tool, AthenaHQ’s free tier includes AI Overviews with 300 credits, Nimt starts you with $45 in free credits once you add a card, and Profound offers a free 7-day trial on three engines. SE Ranking and Omnia (14 days each) and Writesonic have trials that need no card, Gauge, Scrunch AI and Goodie offer 7 days, and Cituna has a 3-day free trial covering all seven engines, which asks for a card and does not charge you during the trial.

Nimt or SE Ranking: which is better for tracking AI Overviews?

They suit different buyers. Nimt is a dedicated AI tracker billed in credits: Flex starts at $89/mo for 10,000 credits, which covers 72 prompts a day with three of its eight models, including AI Overviews, AI Mode, Claude, Gemini and Copilot, plus an MCP server and $45 in free credits to start once you add a card. SE Ranking puts AI tracking inside an SEO suite: Core at $129/mo tracks 100 prompts a day on five LLMs that its plan table does not name (its product menu lists trackers for AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity), next to rank tracking, audits and Search Console data, with a 14-day trial and no card. Choose Nimt if you want Claude and Copilot next to the two Google surfaces in a dedicated AI tool, and SE Ranking if you also need rank tracking, audits and backlink research in the same subscription. If you want AI Overviews and AI Mode checked daily next to Claude, Grok, Gemini, ChatGPT and Perplexity on a flat plan with Search Console built in, Cituna does that from $39/mo. Both rivals’ pricing pages were read on October 1, 2026.

Why does an AI Overview appear for a query one day and not the next?

Google shows an AI Overview on some searches and not others, and whether a given query gets one can change from one day to the next without any change to your pages or your rankings. That is why a single manual check misleads and why trackers report the share of your queries that showed an Overview over time. Cituna checks every query daily and records “no Overview” separately from “Overview that cites someone else”, so the two problems never get mixed up.

Do AI Overviews trackers also track Google AI Mode?

Not always, and the two are different surfaces: AI Overviews is the answer block above Google’s results, while AI Mode is Google’s separate conversational search. Of the 16 tools here, Cituna, Rankscale, LLM Pulse, LLMrefs, Omnia, Nimt, SE Ranking (by our reading of its five LLMs), Goodie and Gauge include AI Mode on the plans listed above, Peec AI offers it as one of three picks, AthenaHQ adds it on Starter, and Otterly.ai sells it as an add-on from $9/mo. Trakkr does not list AI Mode, and Writesonic, Scrunch AI and Profound keep it for Enterprise. Cituna checks both daily on every plan from $39/mo.
