AI visibility tools cost anywhere from $0 to about $36,000 a year in 2026. Most self-serve tools cluster between $29 and $100 a month, mid-market platforms run $189 to $399, and enterprise GEO suites reach $599 a month and climb into five figures a year. The sticker price alone rarely tells you what you actually get.

This guide lists every published entry price in the category, side by side, with the pricing model behind each one and a plain-language note on what that number really buys. All competitor figures below are each vendor’s own published entry tier as of July 16, 2026, linked to its pricing page. Prices in this space change often, so treat the table as a starting map and verify before you buy.

A note on fairness: We build Cituna, one of the tools priced below, so we have skin in the game. We have tried to describe every competitor accurately, credit what each does well, and attribute all pricing to each vendor’s own page as of July 16, 2026. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

What AI visibility tools cost in 2026

Here is the category from cheapest published price to most expensive. The figures are entry tiers, not the ceiling an enterprise contract can unlock, and the last column is the part that matters most: what that entry price actually includes once you read past the headline.

Published entry prices for AI visibility tools, as of July 16, 2026
ToolEntry pricePricing modelWhat that entry price actually buys
Otterly.ai$29/moFlat15 prompts, 4 engines (incl. Microsoft Copilot). Claude is a $29–439 add-on; no Grok; API and MCP begin at the $189 tier.
Cituna$39/moFlatAll 6 engines, native Search Console and an MCP server (read tools). Pro $99, Max $299; 7-day free trial, card required, cancel anytime.
Knowatoa$59/moFlatStarter watches 3 services (ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode). All 7 engines plus API, MCP and Looker unlock at the $199 Growth tier.
LLMrefs$79/moFlat11 engines incl. Copilot, unlimited seats and projects, but a weekly refresh, no generated fixes and no Search Console tie-in.
Omnia€79/moCreditsGrowth caps you at 25 prompts and 150 insight credits. Sentiment analysis and data export sit behind the €279 Pro tier.
Peec AI≈€89/moFlatAnalytics-first, with an MCP server on paid plans. No Claude or Grok listed; tier prices render client-side, so ≈€89 is from Peec’s own comparison pages.
Profound$99/moCreditsStarter buys 1 engine (ChatGPT), 50 prompts and 1 seat, billed yearly. 3 engines is the $399 Growth tier; Claude and Grok are Enterprise-only.
Semrush AI Toolkit$99/domainPer-domainBilled annually and priced per domain, every extra brand or client is another $99. A bolt-on to the wider Semrush suite.
Trakkr$100/moFlat (per brand)Growth covers 1 brand and 50 prompts across 8 engines, with an MCP server and an API at entry. Multi-brand starts at the $500 Scale tier.
Am I on AI$100/moFlatPro tracks just 2 engines (ChatGPT and AI Overviews), as does every tier up to $349 Prism and the $2,500 Council. No Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or Grok.
SE Ranking (AI Results Tracker)$89/mo add-onSuite add-onAn add-on that needs a $129 Core plan beneath it, so about $218 in practice. Up to 5 engines, none of them Claude, Grok or Copilot.
AthenaHQ$0 → $295/moFreemium + creditsA genuine standing free tier, then a jump straight to $295 for 9 engines incl. Claude and Grok, with Search Console and GA4. Nothing in between.
Scrunch AI$300/moFlat (seats)Starter buys 3 seats, 350 prompts and 5 page audits, with no cheaper self-serve tier beneath it, roughly 7.7× a $39 tool.
Goodie AI$399/moFlatExplorer covers 3 engines, 100 prompts and 10 optimization actions a month. Claude, Grok and more require a custom Enterprise contract.
Gauge~$599/moFlat (by tier)The published tier at which coverage across the major AI engines becomes real; the “~” marks that usable tier rather than a narrower entry sticker.
Evertune$800/moSales-ledPro publishes at $800/mo (100K prompts, up to 11 models, unlimited brands and seats); Enterprise is custom. No self-serve signup or free trial, both tiers start with a demo. Reviewers report an enterprise floor near $36,000/year.
Ahrefs Brand Radar~$828/moPer-engine + basePriced per engine ($199 each) on top of a $129+ Ahrefs plan. Six engines works out to ≈$1,194 before the base; reviews put realistic coverage at ~$828–1,148.

Each vendor’s published entry tier as of July 16, 2026, from its own pricing page (linked in the price column). Prices change often, verify before buying. “~” marks a reported or realistic-coverage figure rather than a sticker: Gauge’s usable multi-engine tier and Ahrefs’ per-engine total. “€” figures are euro-denominated and not converted. Cituna is the tool we make; every plan checks all six engines daily, and our MCP server ships read tools from $39 and write tools from Pro ($99). Free tiers and free-trial terms differ by vendor, check each before you rely on them.

A few names in the wider category are missing on purpose. Full-service agencies (a reported $15,000/month and up) are not tools, and a handful of pure single-shot checkers are free but do not monitor over time. The five pricing models (and why the sticker lies)

The reason two tools with the same headline price can cost wildly different amounts is that they meter differently. Five models cover almost everything in the table.

  • Flat, per account. One number, all-in, however much you use it (Cituna, LLMrefs, Am I on AI). The easiest to budget, and usually the honest way to read a headline price.
  • Credit-based. You buy a pool of credits and each prompt, engine or run draws them down (Profound’s agent credits, AthenaHQ’s credit tiers, Omnia’s insight credits). Flexible, but daily multi-engine tracking burns credits fast, so real cost needs a spreadsheet.
  • Per-engine. You pay for each AI engine you add (Ahrefs Brand Radar at $199/engine; Otterly selling Claude as a $29–439 add-on). Coverage compounds cost, so the price you see is rarely the price for the engines you want.
  • Per-domain or per-brand. Each brand or client is another full fee (Semrush at $99/domain; Trakkr’s single-brand Growth versus its $500 Scale tier). Agencies and multi-brand teams feel this model the hardest.
  • Demo-gated / sales-led. You book a call to buy, sometimes even when a headline price exists (Evertune lists an $800/mo Pro tier but starts every plan with a demo and keeps Enterprise custom; the Enterprise contracts that hold Claude and Grok at Profound, Goodie and Scrunch work the same way). Often the tools that publish the least are the ones worth the most scrutiny before you commit.

The practical takeaway: before you compare, convert every option to the same yardstick, the engines you need, the prompt volume you will actually run, and the number of brands you cover. A flat $39 and a credit-metered $99 can end up on opposite sides of your budget once you do.

What actually moves the price

Strip away the branding and AI visibility pricing comes down to a handful of levers. Knowing them lets you read any pricing page in the category in a minute.

  • Engine coverage. The single biggest driver. Am I on AI charges $100 for two engines; Cituna covers six for $39. Watch for engines sold as add-ons (Claude at Otterly) or reserved for Enterprise (Claude and Grok at Profound and Goodie), and note that none of these tools track every engine. Microsoft Copilot, for instance, is covered by Otterly and LLMrefs but not by Cituna.
  • Prompts, seats and brands. The caps that quietly decide your tier. A 15-prompt or 50-prompt entry plan runs out quickly, and per-seat or per-brand limits push agencies up the ladder fast.
  • Report-only versus fixes. Some tools tell you your score; others generate the schema, FAQ and content fixes to move it. The action layer is a real cost difference, not a rounding error.
  • Integrations. A native Google Search Console tie-in, GA4, MCP access and BI connectors (Looker) are often what separate an entry tier from the one above it. MCP in particular is no longer exclusive to anyone, Peec, Trakkr, Knowatoa and others ship it, so treat it as a feature to price, not a moat.
  • Refresh cadence. Weekly tracking is cheaper to run than daily. LLMrefs’ flat $79 buys a weekly refresh; if you need to catch answer changes as they happen, daily coverage is part of what you are paying for.

Which price band fits you

You do not need to compare all seventeen tools. Pick the band that matches your situation, then compare within it.

Free to $39, solo founders and small teams

Start here if you are testing the water. AthenaHQ’s standing free tier and Otterly’s $29 Lite (which also lists a 7-day no-card trial) let you look with little commitment, while Cituna covers all six engines with the generated fixes at $39 on a 7-day trial that does ask for a card. This band is about proving the problem is real before you spend, so favor breadth of engines and a low, predictable line item. The cheapest way in is a free tier or a trial, not the lowest monthly sticker, see the tradeoffs in our Otterly.ai alternatives rundown.

$59 to $100, growing teams

The busiest band in the category: Knowatoa, LLMrefs, Omnia, Peec, Profound’s Starter, the Semrush AI Toolkit, Trakkr and Am I on AI all live here. This is where the pricing model matters most, because a $79–$100 sticker can hide a credit meter, a per-domain multiplier or a two-engine ceiling. Decide what you cannot live without, Claude and Grok coverage, a fix layer, Search Console proof, and let that, not the round number, pick the tool.

$189 to $399, mid-market platforms

Otterly’s $189 Standard, Knowatoa’s $199 Growth, SE Ranking’s standalone tracker, AthenaHQ’s $295 plan, Scrunch at $300 and Goodie at $399 sit here. You are buying more seats, more prompts, deeper integrations and, in AthenaHQ’s case, nine engines with Search Console and GA4. Fair for teams that have outgrown an entry tier, but check that the jump buys engines and proof you will use, not just a bigger prompt cap.

$599 and up, enterprise GEO suites

Gauge at ~$599, Ahrefs Brand Radar at ~$828-plus and Evertune (whose Pro tier is $800/mo, with a custom Enterprise contract reviewers put near $36,000/year) are a different purchase: demand-level data, paid activation, dedicated analysts and annual contracts, often with prices that go private at the top. If you are a small team that found one of these while shopping, you are usually priced out before the first call, a self-serve tool from $39 does the tracking-and-fixing yourself. For the top end specifically, our Ahrefs Brand Radar alternatives and Scrunch AI alternatives pages break down what you gain and give up.

How we price Cituna (and what our own scans show)

Since we are in the table, here is our pricing in plain terms. Cituna is a flat $39/mo Starter, $99 Pro and $299 Max, with no credit math and no per-domain multiplier. Every plan covers all six engines, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok and Google AI Overviews, checked daily, pairs a native Google Search Console integration with a built-in MCP server (read tools from $39, write tools from Pro), and generates the schema, FAQ and content fixes, not just a score. The 7-day free trial requires a card, with no charge during the trial and cancel anytime. Max ($299) carries the volume high-output teams and agencies need, 120 tracked prompts, 50 brands, 80 scans a month, API access, priority support and the highest MCP allowances, and a custom Enterprise plan handles bespoke prompt pools, brands and engine cadences on invoiced billing with priority onboarding. MCP is not unique to us, several tools above ship it, but pairing it with native Search Console at this price is rarer than the flat number itself.

The deeper reason we lead with a flat, low price rather than a premium one is the thesis of this whole guide: what an AI visibility tool costs has almost nothing to do with whether the engines will name your brand. We run Cituna on ourselves to prove we mean it. In our own scan of cituna.com on July 17, 2026, our overall AI-citation score came out at 9 out of 100, the models barely reach for us yet, which is exactly the gap this whole category exists to close. And across our category prompts, questions like “best AI visibility audit service”, the brands the enginesdid name were Moz, Semrush, Ahrefs, Profound and Otterly.ai: a spread that runs from a $29 tool to $800-plus suites (our own scan data). Price did not predict a single citation. So buy the tool that shows you those gaps and hands you the fixes, then pick the cheapest one that does it, which is exactly the job we built Cituna to do, and why we start at $39. Compare it against the field on our best AI visibility tools page, or see the plans in full on our pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

How much do AI visibility tools cost on average in 2026?

Most self-serve AI visibility tools sit between $29 and $100 per month. Below that are a couple of genuine free tiers; above it, mid-market platforms run roughly $189 to $399 per month, and enterprise GEO suites reach $599 per month into five figures a year. As of July 16, 2026, the spread across the category runs from $0 to enterprise contracts around $36,000 a year, so an "average" price is less useful than knowing which band matches the engines, prompts and integrations you actually need.

What is the cheapest AI visibility tool?

On sticker price, the cheapest options are the free tiers. AthenaHQ publishes a standing free plan (athenahq.ai/pricing), followed by Otterly.ai at $29/mo, though its Lite tier caps you at 15 prompts and four engines and sells Claude as an add-on (otterly.ai/pricing, July 16, 2026). The cheapest plan that covers all six major engines at entry is Cituna at $39/mo. "Cheapest" and "cheapest that covers what you need" are often different numbers, which is the whole point of reading the caveats, not just the price.

Why are some AI visibility tools so expensive?

The top of the market charges for depth, not just tracking: demand-level prompt-volume data, per-engine or credit-metered coverage, more seats and prompts, dedicated analyst support, and in some cases paid activation across ad and affiliate networks. The enterprise end stays sales-led. Evertune, for example, publishes a Pro tier at $800/month but keeps its Enterprise tier custom and demo-only, and reviewers report an enterprise floor near $36,000/year (evertune.ai/pricing, July 16, 2026). You are paying for a platform and a contract, not a monthly line item.

Do AI visibility tools charge per engine or per brand?

Some do, and it changes the real cost a lot. Ahrefs Brand Radar is priced per AI engine ($199 each) on top of an Ahrefs plan; the Semrush AI Toolkit is priced per domain ($99 each), so every extra client is another $99; and Otterly sells Claude as a separate add-on. Others, Cituna, LLMrefs, Am I on AI, are flat per account. Before comparing two "$99" tools, normalize them to the engines, prompts and brands you need; that is where the sticker price and the invoice diverge.

Is a more expensive AI visibility tool better?

Not automatically. Price mostly tracks engine coverage, prompt and seat volume, and how much demand data or done-for-you depth a tool ships, not whether AI engines will actually name your brand. In our own scans, the brands the engines cite for category questions span the entire price spectrum, from a $29 tool to $800-plus suites. Buy for the coverage, the fixes and the proof you need, then pick the cheapest tool that delivers them, rather than assuming the priciest one wins.
