Connect Wix to Cituna and publish to your Wix Blog

Publish AI-written articles to your Wix Blog as drafts or live posts: the API key and its two permissions, the site ID, and how edits made in Wix are kept.

If your site runs on Wix, Cituna can write straight into its Wix Blog. It finds the questions buyers ask that AI engines answer without you, writes the articles from your own search data, and creates each one as a Wix Blog post with its cover image, excerpt, hashtags and SEO title and description. Wix Blog posts all have the same fields, so there is nothing to map. Articles can arrive as drafts for you to publish in Wix. If your site is not on Wix, the webhook destination hands you the article to place yourself.

What this assumes

Your blog is the Wix Blog on the site you connect, and the site is published on the brand’s own domain. Cituna creates and updates blog posts only, and never touches pages, products or anything else on the site.

1. Copy your site ID

Open the site’s dashboard in Wix. The site ID is the long code after /dashboard/ in the address bar, made of letters, digits and dashes. You can paste the whole dashboard address instead and Cituna picks the ID out of it.

Cituna tracked prompts: each buyer question with one mark per AI engine, ticked where that engine named the brand, and how many engines named it
In Cituna: every tracked prompt, with a mark for each engine that named you. Example workspace.Try it on your site

2. Generate an API key with two permissions

Open the API Keys Manager at manage.wix.com/account/api-keys and click Generate API Key. Name it Cituna, tick the Wix Blog and Manage Site Media permissions, and click Generate Key. Wix may email you a code to confirm, and shows the key once, so copy it before you close the dialog.

Wix Blog lets Cituna read your posts and create and update its own. Manage Site Media lets it upload each article’s cover image to the site’s Media Manager.

A key without either permission is refused at connect with a message naming the missing one, rather than failing later on the first article.

3. Connect the site in Cituna

Choose the brand in the top bar, open Integrations and click Connect on the Wix card. Paste the Site ID and the API key, then click Connect Wix.

Cituna reads your blog’s posts, checks the key may upload images and finds the address the site is published on, which must be on the brand’s own domain. It creates nothing on the site. New posts are filed under the writer who owns most of your existing posts.

Cituna sources: the sites AI engines cite for the tracked prompts, with citations per site, the change this period and the engines citing each one

4. Choose drafts or publishing, then turn on the daily article

Open Articles. Under Where should the articles go?, click Other, then Wix. Under Who approves them?, choose I review each one first, then Review in Wix to receive each article as a draft you publish in Wix, or Review in Cituna to send nothing until you approve it. Publish automatically publishes each post as soon as it is written. The daily articles guide compares the three.

Then, under Start writing, turn on Write articles every day. Connecting a destination does not start anything by itself.

Troubleshooting

The article is in Wix but not on my site.

It is still a draft, which is what Review in Wix does. Open your Wix Blog’s Posts page, find it under Drafts and publish it.

Will Cituna overwrite an edit made in Wix?

Not silently. Before an update, Cituna compares the fields it writes with what it last sent. If someone changed them in Wix, or deleted the post, automatic updates leave it alone. Fields it does not write, such as categories, the writer and SEO settings, are never touched.

Does sending the same article twice create a duplicate?

No. A re-send updates the post Cituna created. If a first send times out, the retry finds the post it made by its slug and title and updates it instead of adding a second one. Any other post on the slug is never overwritten: one with another title, one older than a day, or a live one when the article is a draft. Cituna stops and says which.

Why was my site refused when it is on Wix?

Posts must appear on the brand’s own domain, so that links between articles point at your site. A site still on its free wixsite.com address, or published on another domain, is refused. Connect your domain to the site in Wix, then connect again.
